For the past 3 years Yamamoto sensei has been leading the Glocal Festival. The festival brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate diversity and embrace our shared humanity.
3年間、琉球大学准教授の山元先生はグローカルフェスティバルを主催してきました。このフェスティバルには様々な背景を持った人々が集まり、多様性や共通の人間らしさを受け入れます。
このイベントは1999年に小さな「留学生フェスティバル」として始まり、2019年に「グローカルフェスティバル」となり、現在も発展を続けています。2023年からは会場を西原町役場に移し、悪天候にも関わらず7月は737名、12月は467名の来場者がありました。
This event started as a small "International Student Festival" in 1999, became a "Glocal Festival" in 2019, and continues to develop. Starting in 2023, the venue was moved to Nishihara Town Hall, and there were 737 visitors in July and 467 visitors in December despite bad weather.
The festival features international food tastings, cross-cultural experiences, traditional costume experiences, dance and music stages, exhibitions, product sales, and human-centered activities by our university's international students, local foreigners, people with disabilities, LGBT and other minority communities.
このフェスティバルでは、世界各国の料理、異文化体験、伝統衣装体験、ダンスや音楽のステージ、展示、物販のほか、本学の留学生、地元に住んでいる外国人、障がい者、LGBT、その他のマイノリティコミュニティによる人間中心の活動が行われます。
In addition to the multicultural co-study between international and Japanese students, the preparation and management of the event will be carried out by high school students from NS2BP (Nishihara Social Business Project), who will hold "Glocal Practical Exercises" every Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This will be done through classes. Classes will be held at Ryukyu University's Ryukyu Lab, a startup support facility, with the aim of contributing to the revitalization of entrepreneurship education through multicultural co-study at our university.
イベントの準備と運営は、留学生と琉大生による多文化共修に加えて、NS2BP（西原ソーシャルビジネスプロジェクト）の高校生らが、毎週水曜日16時30分〜19時00分「グローカル実践演習」という授業を通して行います。授業は琉球大学にある「琉ラボ」という、スタートアップ支援の場で行い、本学の多文化共修によるアントレプレナーシップ教育の活性化にも貢献することを目指しています。
